Cool
Hermanus Flying Fanatics

Welcome to Hermanus Flying Fanatics tread.

We are a bunch of keen, crazy and most definitely fanatic slope flyers in Hermanus. Our stage/slope is one of the most beautiful places you possibly could fly. With whales shagging in the bay and us sloping on the mountain.....life is at it’s best here.

This is a drooling tread, a reminder of what you're missing once you've gone back home. We’ll be posting the happenings in this area, videos, pictures and building projects, you name it!

If you have gone stealth mode on us locals and obtained some spy pictures of you sloping in Hermanus, please go public and post it here.

May our batteries last forever

Big Hawk (2 min 57 sec)

Welcome to our little virtual Hermanus sloping. I'm sure we'll see a lot of you. We lived in Colorado for 6 years and made it twice down to Santa Barbara and San Diago. I must admit, Simply Stunning. It was our home away from home. Similar lifestyle and climate as here in Hermanus. See ya soon.

Sean, I know you already have. It's addictive here and you know it. You will see my next post. It was the craziest thing that was attempted on this mountain. My eyes were as round as dinner plates, but....... will chat later.

OK Jaco, sorry I haven't checked out how to cross-quote from the old Cape Town thread, but in response to your jab about just adding more lead, I fear there's a point where you probably just HAVE to have something made out of more lead or brick than foam to counter these winds! Not fair to expect a 200g baby to stick around with the kind of air velocities up the mountain right now-it's "poep teen die oostewind!" ;-)
When I was thirty years younger I kept a control line aircraft with a .049 baby bee for quiet conditions, and a kite for the wind-figured that way I'd hedge my bets .. I guess the same thing holds for sloapies ..
