Freewing ME262 builds, mods, and everything else
As everyone following the other two FW ME262 (same poster) thread knows it was just released by rc-castle and BH is still has it on pre-order. I've ordered my kit from RC-Castle and it should be here by end of next wk or wk after. I will do a slow build with the 1st part being the dynam me262 canopy mod, if it fits. Everyone else is welcome to join in on their builds and mods. I'm just trying to get one thread going that everyone can come to for info, specs, mods & more, since ppl keep posting on both threads (which are the same). I'll post pics as soon as she shows up. Can't wait!!!!

Here will be my setups depending on what preforms better during static test.
FW 2300kv motors & FW fan (have a spare set sitting in closet from SU35)
FW 2300kv motor & CS10 ( depending on thrust vs stock FW blades)
Cyclone Power 2500kv motors & stock FW fans
Like I said I will test all 3 setups to see which preforms better as I have all parts avail.
80a x 2 HW escs
20a cc bec pro or 10a cc bec, depending on room. (both sitting in closet also)
Electric brake system (Tornado brakes)
TP90MG - Aileron servos & steering
HS82MG - elevator servos
Remainder servos stock FW servos

I'm in, thanks for the pm V8, Pete told me last week they were in CA, and clearing port customs and should be shipping out soon....I'll wait since I got it when it was $349 shipped as an ARF. Will probably be here shortly after the first. And besides we are in the middle of a Move to a new house till then, so I will be able to set up shop in the garage finally.

The kit does come with the fan, so you will have another spare set!!
I ordered mine kit with servos, I hate going thru all the servos wires. Either too short or too long.
I should be getting mine the week after next. And I have two different Kv motors coming too... 1800Kv and 1950Kv inrunner. Will try on 8s setup on the stock fan.
Let's hope it fly well..

beware when using different rotors
if I read correctly the fans are counter-rotating
that means that the vanes of one shroud will be tilted in the "other" direction.
otherwise you could just put in 10-blade (the newer 12-blades might also fit, but tightly).
as it is, you will have to replace one fan shroud
not expensive, HK has them I think...
(pre-ordered mine from ready2fly, plan a low power 4s setup using stock 2300kV motors with Change Sun 10-blade rotors. mine will be light w/out retracts and light lipos, so I hope power will be sufficient)

Ya know I never thought about that when I installed my cs10 in my su35. I used the stock shrouds , stock motor and cs10 fans and did notice thrust wasn't up to par. Maybe that was a reason thrust was low. Thanks I'll keep that in mind and will also re-test my su35.

Nope, I didn't get it from there. Mine is on the ship now.
CS10 doesn't preform well in Freewing shroud. CS10 get higher number in the CS10 shroud. For the freewing counter fan, if you put in the wrong rotation rotor you only get half the performance.. So far these are what I experiences.
I m trying to run the stock fan to 48k rpm. Wish me good luck !
Pape, these motors are custom made. Will test it out first.

CS70 10-blade rotors in Freewing shroud
Have't tried it myself but on the CS70 thread is has been claimed to work well (I voiced the suspicion that there was too much clearance between blades and shroud).
However, not a bad thing since the new 12-bladers are slightly bigger, that might work better then without sanding them down.
Looks like the 12-blades are replacing the 10-blades totally at Change Sun anyway...
check the tilt of the vanes, if they're built for counter-rotating fan rotors, you will dramatically increase the swirl (instead of elimininating it), and the losses will be dramatic (probably not 50% though)

Better keep some stocks for the CS10. CS12, I tested it briefly I don't see any gain in performance but amp draw up by about 10%. To me, I will stick with CS10.
Yes, Changsun is stopping CS10. Future will be only CS12. If CS12 can run at higher rpm it is a bad thing. 8s should be interesting.

Well it would be nice if they did do CR fans on the CS10/12.
Ya my power loss was about 25% on the SU35 w/ CS10 in FW shroud, makes sense now.
