Jay Leno Headline

Anybody catch Jay Leno's Headline segment last night (monday)? Check in your RCM magazine and on the Maxx Products (MPI) there is a picture of some radio equipment with a quarter next to in. In the caption next to it, it reads "IT'S A DIME!!!" Its on page 85 of my August addition, I'm not sure if its in any other issues or not. Check it out!

I've seen that ad before. It makes you wonder if anyone bothers to look things over before they submit it for publication. I've also seen several ads with missing words or incorrect spelling.

I have laughed at the "this is a dime" in the ad for months. I do wonder if it has something to do with wages .

Dave

Gerald, German plane right? Lets not get too picky . How about, buy now and save? Who came up with that line? Also "Up To" 75% off...

The "misleading" ad. headline that always makes me chuckle is:

WITH (credit company name), YOU CAN NOW BORROW ENOUGH MONEY TO GET OUT OF DEBT!

Clive.

I think the problems is computers. Spell checkers and the like have made us all lazy proof readers. We forgive errors in e-mails and on-line postings - but I cringe a couple of time in virtually every print article I read because of wrong words that got passed the computer.

I think maybe Leno has a bit where he makes fun of ads with obvious errors.

Later,

Mike
