AirCore Modular Aircraft System (AnyLink 2s Micros)

Hobbico has announced quite a few new AnyLink aircraft, but their AirCore system really caught my eye. No more need to convert Parkzone UM warbirds to 2s.

They dont have wingspans listed, but judging from the power cartridge relative to the fuselage size, I would say they are in the 20-25" range.

Here are some of the components in the cartridge for a size reference.

Never before been a fan of flyzone or found any offerings I found really interesting, but got to say this is interesting. Not ready to go get out the checkbook, but will certainly follow to see what they turn out to be. Now if they could just add some form of aerobatic airframe, I'd probably just have to try it. Just have no interest in warbirds.

I remember air core 40 size planes back in the 90's. iirc they were overweight and underwhelming.

If they keep the same servo plugs they are currently using, It's only $10 to convert them to true DSM2 and not mess with anylink.

I like that these are the same planes (ME109/FW190, Zero, etc) as the Cox micro warbirds, only these look more scale.

Wondering if replacement airframes, power cores, will be available individually. Could be a modders dream, stuffing bare frames with whatever, upgrading cores...
Night and day difference between the 1s and 2s micro situations now. Warbirds with brushless durability and options, Allied AND Axis model availability...
Looks like I might be buying the GP F86 afterall, mostly for the Anylink($25 item w/ plane for $80=winning). Waiting to see what people think when they get these in hand, in air, on bench....

I looks like they will have "DuoPacks" that will include 2 airframes and the power pack, but will also offer just the empty airframes at a later point. It does not look like they made an in person appearance at Nuremberg, so it may not be until late in the holiday season before they release them.

I found a video they have posted, no actual planes yet, but the 3D animation shows a symmetrical or semi symmetrical wing.

Honestly I like the idea. I believe these will cover a large demographic of flyers, from beginners to seasoned flyers! Personally I like the idea that if today I want to fly a p-51 I can, and tomorow I may want to fly a spitfire!!! I`m looking forward to these when then come out! I have a set of Uberlites, that my girlfriend and I flew all winter, and we both had a blast with them.

They did this quite a long time ago with nitro and the US Air Core planes which were made of coroplast. They didn't fly all that great but the concept just needed technology to catch up.

Pretty neat to see the concept coming back.

I'm hard on airplanes. After so much glue and bending, they just never fly right. Swapping engines (especially their mounts) and boards and servos to new airframes is a pain. I will definitely buy one of these to try it out.
