Nice flying on both accounts. I was worried the planes were going to end up in the drink a few times on the low water passes. Which motor and FPV gear are you using on the Pinata?

The recommended Intro motor being http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...dProduct=24239 which is 2200kv on my 3S 3000 packs. I use a 500mw Aomway VTX and small 25mm Surveilzone CCD cam, no OSD or AP. I use a 10dbi TrueRC Crosshair antenna on my goggles which is good for 10km range.

Finally had a couple of combat sessions with Robin. This is HARD. I figured with my DLG mid-air history we'd be knocking each other out of the air immediately. Total so far 3 hits between the two of us for about 6 batteries worth of flying.

I think we need a few more planes in the air.

Lots of giggles per mAh used though

yeh combat is tough to hit others. You have to figure that these planes are going no less than 60mph and turning on a dime. A lot of noobs will do the bee's nest flying randomly. I dislike when they do that. Better to do a oblong circle and combat with each other that way. Some mistake this as pylon racing. That's cool too but you don't need to be going 120Mph to combat it just makes it harder to hit. Combat is co-opetition. And always more planes the better! You can still have lots of fun and never hit.

Yeah, we've been trying to set up with one plane doing 1/2 throttle circuits as the target and not just a mad fur ball. More planes fer sure.

And I didn't say it wasn't fun

I don't think I've ever been in a thrift store and not seen at least a few irons on the shelf. Had I known sooner that a regular clothes iron worked better, I wouldn't have bothered to buy a hobby iron.

sounds fun. The full throttle combat is not much fun unless you can actually crash then its great! Sounds like you you will very soon experience many hits . Too bad you're on the other side of the country!

If you ever get into other coatings you will need the hobby iron IMO. Works great on my assassins and my other coatings!

Oh boy here we go! FPV wing racing, I'm all in!
Now I see where overmyhead spends all his time. I've got some catching up to do.

Combat hits are hard to get if you are just up and flying through a given area. We try to fly in formation with the back flyers speeding up and the front flyers slowing down to keep the planes in a group then try to roll into each other. We seldom have any damage to the planes other than a rare prop cut into the foam but that isn't even a big deal.
