The Minuscules series is the best thing to come out of France since Micron. I especially like the engine noises..........

Sorry - hadn't noticed you'd added a link to the clip - I thought it was a 'Guess what it is' quiz!

I suppose that means that I don't win £5???

Snap-On

Buying some more Snap-On tools ? Indeed altough my wife does not fully understand that......she took the picture. Snap-On tools are only available here from the special Snap-On van that regularly visits garages. No need to say these are the best tools worldwide. But rather expensive over here, when I see the low prices asked in the US !

Hi,
This is just a sign of life.
I haven't been too busy out here for a while.
Before I get retired "for real", I do have some commitments to finish, keeping me quite busy for a while on.....

Nevertheless, I found an old photo of a self-designed model, taken about 30 years ago.
As I recall, it was basically fairly nice and fun, although showing some nasty properties, when pushed to its limits...!
Span was about 54".
Powered by an Enya 25X.
A "Coleman Mustard" tin tank was used.
Radio: A 27mhz Sanwa Stac (which I still have, still working excellent !)
The wing was built by using a "rib package" for a 2M glider. This was one of my mistakes.
Wing loading was, not a tad, but, er, 1½ tad too high, which, combined with the poor choice of wing section, made a plane not to "chuck around the sky".

One good thing though, was the ski-setup (laminated of thin ply/balsa), enabling super straight takeoff-lines, with almost no need of correction. Yet, the model was simple to taxi on the snow....

This model met its destiny (you probably guessed it), when it was pressed in a hard banking fast L/H turn, with lots of "G's" generated.
Suddenly the model made an unexpected quick roll R/H...!...and dissapeared among the (too) close treetops.....
Thats the price of arrogance.....

Memories.....

Harley Davidson

Bought today, as good as new 4 year old 883 Sportster low rider. Did have one in 1975. Flying buddy Marc van Vaerenberg has a Fat Boy so we can now do some touring together. With the chipperary mog sold last year there is plenty of space in the garage.

As Lindbergh once said, "Vision is overrated." Actually, I'm not sure if he ever said that.

Enough is enough.

We can accept it for a limited period, but than we have to modify these kind of ugly airplanes.
This is an "off topic" thread but we still are modelers! Or not?
