Help!
Basic repair parts kit for Blade 450x recommendations...

Could anyone familiar with this model offer me a general idea what would be good to have on hand for immediate repair of a mild to moderate crash? I guess I'm really just trying to ascertain what is most prone to breakage on this model except for servos. I believe I will be upgrading them in the near future. Thank you so much in advance.

I've had to replace my main gear a few times because of slow fingers on the throttle hold. Main shaft will usually bend in a moderate crash along with the feathering shaft.

Hard to remember exactly what breaks since I haven't had a crash ever since I replaced the BeastX with a Spirit FBL. I'm probably jinxing myself by saying that though.

When you crash you are very likely to break your frame and skids. As has been mentioned already, your tail boom and main shaft will also likely bend. In any crash you should always check your feathering shaft.

Finally, your blades will probably need to be replaced.

If you plan on crashing right away them you will need parts for sure. Nothing like positive planing is there ? If new seek help it can save you alot of fustration. Micro heli like Nano CPS will take learning abuse alot better. Good luck.

Blades - both ends
Main gear
Skids
Main shaft (and maybe a tail shaft)
Spindle (feather shaft)
Main Blade grips (and maybe tail blade grips)
Spare servo
Tail boom

This should get you through most common damages pretty well from my experience.

Cheers, Jim

My stock motor had its bearing fail after about 70 flights. I put in an 450H motor from HorizonHobby to replace it. I think you could run an 11T or 12T pinion with it on the stock ESC, but you'll have to check the forums to be sure.

When I put mine in, I installed a 13T Align pinion, and upgraded the ESC to a Castle Edge Lite 50. Running with governed headspeed is nice.

As for metal gear servos, you could probably put in the new MG servos that you can get stock on the 360 CFX now. The 450X V2 came with those servos. I think it's the H3050 for cyclic and H3060 for tail.

Throw a canopy on that list and you are very well set. You can plan on replacing the feathering shaft if your blades even come close to anything, then the main gear, followed by the main grips and main shaft. Main blades are surprisingly tough.

Im sorry , but I have crashed more times than I care to remember ...

I got my first 450 and promptly crashed it , after several crashes and the time it takes to wait for parts I decided I needed a 2nd Copter ..

One day after not crashing for a while I decided it was time to go to the park , I crashed both helis doing serious damage ..

I decided right there and then I needed a 3rd Copter ...

But again I was still bumping into things , so I ordered parts in bulk ..
Now I carry everything ...
I mean everything .. I have built 3 copters out of my parts bin to date , two are sitting on a wall behind me , one is a fully assembles less electrics , the other frame has a motor and servos installed ...

You want to bulk order
1) Feathering shafts
2) Main rotor head shaft
3) Drive gears
4) Tail rotor shafts
5) Tail booms
6) Main blades
7) Servos

Just off the top of my head for the things I bent or broke very often .

Broken less often =

Complete head
Motor ( surprisingly easy to break the motor shaft - and not easy to replace ) so a spare motor !
Landing gear
Never broken a frame - Certainly bent a alloy frame , which can be fixed easily
