Iíve had this old hull sitting in the back of my shop for several years - itís a 50-800 Marblehead, fiberglass hull with a Formica deck - anyone have an idea as to the design or era ?

Didn't know what it was in your last thread. And unfortunatley still don't know what it is now-
But no difference
it's still an M.
It looks as if it wants a balanced lead- "Classic" era style.
Put all the electronics in it. Weigh the rig, and put a weight on the mast-step equal to the weight of the rig (or just put the rig on it)
Then float it.
add scrap weights on the deck untuil the boat floats on it's waterline.
That weight of the scrap is the weight your ballast should weigh.
See ya on the pond next spring after you get it finished.
