So the glow plug is not a direct fit without an adapter.
Adaptors are cheap. Especially when you pay $13 for a glow plug.

That brings up another point. How long do these $13 glow plugs last?

I'll bet they won't last near as long as a $13 1/4-32 spark plug.

[QUOTE=SrTelemaster;29038217]You will also have to lug a glow driver around, clip it on & un-clip it every time you have to start the engine.

Wow imagine doing that . What a effort . Its a wonder you can get out of bed in the morning as that would require such an effort . Cant you give the ignition thing a rest ? Just because you hate glow plugs doesn't mean everyone does . You sound like a broken record and unfortunately its One Direction ! Cheers the pope...

Well you wouldnt know how long the glow plug lasts would you ? Theres numerous posts if you would care to look on how fragile the small spark plugs are . Im still on the original plug in my norvel gass engine . You know the one where you state that it has the power of a 25 when I and at least one other says its more like a 40 OR 46 ! How about you stop with your glow powered diatribe and commenting on stuff you obviously have no idea about so that the rest of us who are interested in it can maybe find out something interesting . Cheers the pope

Pope,

I have a Novarossi C6S glow-plug in an MVVS .49 engine.

It is the original one that cam installed in it; and has so far logged ~130 hours...
The engine most often starts first back-flip and continues to run reliably...

What number did you have in mind?

My fourstroke OS 91 Surpass II easily logged 60 hours on a glowplug until I replaced it with a sparkplug.Since then 20 hours and counting.

But my 2-strokes did on average (three identical Rossi engines in three identical helicopters) 3 plugs per engine per year which translates to at best 20~25 hours per plug.

There the plug consumption alone would pay for the ignition in 3 years....

So... it varies, obviously.

Brgds, Bert
