Ok, this bird requires a lot of building time! Now it is time to apply the first automotive primer layer to reveal imperfections and fill the small gaps... after that, a lot of sand paper!

Actual fuselage weight: 1100 grams

Looks very nice! did you use any filler to cover the weave, or just the primer?

To cover the weave you have to apply 2 or 3 layers of primer and sanding between layers...if needed some gap filler...hard job!

Im trying to figure out how you get the flat plan from a 3d model. I know how most guys do it but most people dont use your extreme curving method. Ive thought about draping paper over each piece but im sure thats not how you do it

well in sketch up we have a plugin that unfolds the 3d shape to a 2d surface

Hehehe, but i don't unfold from 3d to 2d. I usually take the 3 views (front,left,top view) and draw 2d lines all over, then i use some applications like cone layout to help me do some sections,.like nose, edf exit tube, and other circular parts or tube parts...Yes it is a little bit hard...
