Very impressive work on the retract mechanism! You are making great progress.

I got sidetracked watching some of your other videos, and was equally impressed watching the video of your cnc hotwire carving out part of the Mig3.

Hello Don! This is just software... As Rhino - the CAD I use- , has a kind of script edit mode I used this to generate a virtual machine space shown in post 17 which allows me to virtually place a part on the machine. After running the script CAD has analyzed the part for the boundary data of extrusion and extrapolated to the machines planes ... generated two point clouds which are disciplined and synchronously merged and converted to very basical NC code, EMC or Mach would be able to run. As the script is adapted to my machine, it is rather specific, it generates NC code out of 3D ( what I wanted to achieve) ( and it is still a bit buggy but as I got used to it, the script is very fast .....)

Would not imply that. It just takes time to learn the strategy behind using it to best advantage like any complicated tool.

Pre - Assembly

After most of the raw parts are done yet I pinned everything together.

lookin real nice there! I'm wanting to spend more time on mine, had to put my order on hold from Hobby City as they don't stock their T connectors anymore (main reason for my order). Any chance at getting more detailed shots (showing the secrets) of your retracts?
