I am in need of the Fairchild 24R (ranger cowl) @ 1/3 Can someone please
point me in the proper direction for this in fiber glass? I figure enough time
has passed since my last inquiry that one would be out there somewhere.
I will be building the Effinger R24 and want to acquire the cowl. Otherwise
I will create one using male molding with High Load 60 Styrofoam.

I'm in 'hibernation' on my cowl, at the moment, and It's going to be for a "K" model, with extended sides at the rear, ala Tiger Moth, etc.
The cooling air exits at the fuselage sides, rather than the bottom.
Mine is being formed over blue foam, to create a female mold for repeat pulls.
I need to get in the mood again.

I've been on a mission, to find information on Bob Lopshire's 1/5 scale Fairchild,by April, this year.
It's been 36 years since I first saw that model fly,and it's been an indelible impression.
At the Hamburg Pa. model flea market 2012,I bought a well constructed model from his plans, that needed some TLC.IT had the original plans from RCModeler with it,and I promptly copied them for future use.
I put out an occasional feeler for the April 1978 RCM, with no results. Beginning to get concerned that I'd never find a copy,I resigned myself that it was to be just a memory..
But then,Florioflier came through, with a wonderful gift of the mag...Thank you,Sir..
Yesterday, I visited the Delaware R/C Club's field, and much to my surprise, and pleasure, the original pilot, Bob Karlsson, was there..
He and I visited for some time, and his memories of it are as clear as mine..It was a wonderful model, built by an artisan.
My Monocoupe is nearing completion, and my interest is growing in the Fairchild again.
Wouldn't it be nice to ask Mr.Karlsson to test fly another Fairchild ?

Two weeks until New Garden Airshow...I want to take the Fairchild hulk along for display, but between the Midwing, and the Decathlon, I may not have room.
It's time to get back on the build, now that I have the engine running well in the Citabria.
