Fly RC Spit - First flight

I just returned from first flight for Spitfire built from the Fly RC magazine plans. It's 4 channel stand-off scale intended for geared 280. I'm always dubious about power, so I used a graupner 2.33 geared 6V SP400 / 8 kr600AE. AUW is 16 oz. Really impressive flyer, ROG and very maneuverable. This was my first time to try the Berg 4*DSP, also very impressive tiny package, no glitches counted at a busy Sunday field.

Anyway, I can sure recommend the plane for aerobatic sorta scale spitfire. ( It looks like a hurricane to me really )

Great Maiden!

I agree that it looks like the Hurricane. Perhaps a modification is in order! (Hey, I can do that, just needs a different wing, slightly different tail, a few fuse mods and a new cockpit!)

Anyway, I love that new mag (I have mine right here...) and good luck with the Spitfire! The Bird Dog of the 2nd issue looks spectacular too.

Happy Flying!

Fly RC Spitfire

Russell2 - Sounds like the Spitfire went real well - Congratulations! I have just finished construction on mine and getting ready to cover. Mine will be powered with a GWS 300 geared motor (same unit that came stock with the GWS Mustang) and will be using a NIMH 5/4AAA 9.6 pack. What do you think of this combination after flying yours?
