Thank you!!

I've been right next to her many times! Imagine looking up at her from a tiny 18 foot center console.

She's massive!

I've had her creep up on me in the fog on Lake St. Clair. There was a thick fog on the lake and I was coming out of the "Cut Off" channel. I stopped near a channel marker and decided to wait for the morning sun to "burn it off". I could hear the engines of a large ship coming toward me. The ship was sounding it's horn as it approached. I decided to get on the opposite side of the marker outside the channel. (I doubt they could see me on radar nor do they care, it's a really tight fit)
The fog was about 25ft high. so I could see the super structure in the distance. It looked like a building floating over the clouds as it approached.
What I didn't realize, is that the bow was going to be coming right by me much sooner than I thought. The fog in front of me started getting darker and the engine noise got louder. Then the bow broke through the fog and was in full view like a giant moving wall.
I was well out of the way, but it's so big, it still towers over you!! It was moving much slower than normal. It was throwing a much smaller wake. I could hear the backwash crashing on the rocks after it passed and the water was churning with little whirlpools.
Something you'll never forget.
