Proud of son - have to brag

Brag Warning!

My 11yr old son soloed on Friday. I am so proud of him. I wish it was that easy for me when starting years ago (I was self taught).

He had about 2 hours time on a SIM and about 5-6 assisted flights. Last friday was perfect for the Slow Stick. Almost no wind and high 60's temp.

I told him it was time. He lined up took off flew the entire flight and did one of the best landings I have ever seen. YEA!

Just had to brag a bit!

Very Cool.

I've got my son Stephen (10) working on the sim. He's still a little prone to overcontrolling in the field yet though.

My younger brother, spencer(7) is working of FMS, he like to fly the planes around, he's still working on it, but in a few years, i might move him up to E-planes, or maby this yearif he gets better.

Way to go! Must be nice, my 12 year old just isn't all that interested. He likes to "fling 'em around" in RealFlight but just doesn't have enough interest to settle down and really learn to fly. Too bad, too. I've got and extra tx and rx just waiting for a plane. To date I have still never flown simultaneously with someone. How am I ever going to have a mid air??

Great news! That is about the time my dad got me interested in the hobby and it has been a part of my life ever since. Kept me out of trouble I'm sure!

Learned to fly at 11. Think how good he'll be when he's 38!

Thanks all!

Yes it is good to have him fly with me. Now he thinks he is ready for the Simple 400!

He flew Saturday with some wind and he had trouble - good to keep him grounded!

My 14 year old has zero interest in flying. O well.

I hope I can can keep him interested!
