P-39 VQ warbirds

Looks like a re-release of the VQ P-39.

It's not the most scale looking bird.
But guys that want a P-39 don't have a lot of choices.

Yea....pretty far from scale in....well just about every area....but it does fly nice....I think it is more of a big low wing trainer than anything....mine has not seen the light of day in years.

How are they (VQ) on shipping costs? I see a few birds that I could be happy with

There is a new P-39 Airacobra choice in the J-power/Skyangel "funfighter" line. I did a writeup of it on my blog.

I picked up the VQ P-39 today.

It looks quite good, although as mentioned above, not terribly scale.

I have a McCoy Series 21 .40 R/C I just went through and test ran waiting for it.

For what it's worth, dumas is making a walnut scale p-39 in balsa... it's $35.00 so I think the kit is a bit expensive for what it is.

If I understand whats included with the VQ I'd say the price is pretty nice, though I'm not interested in owning too many balsa planes and definitely don't want a plane that big right now.

If I had money floating out of my ears I'd buy the skyangel airacobra (now that I've bought the 20g motors I wanted) and try flying it at a AUW of 8oz on 2s. It's almost the right size and made of foam.

Just ordered mine from VQ. Been wanting one for ages. Appears to be about the same size as my v7 Mustang. I'll fit it with retracts.
Since it's the same size as my FMS v7 P-51 and a 3 blader, I think I'll try an FMS 580kv motor I have on hand.
