Tarot TL200A Mini 200mm Quad Frame

The Tarot TL200A Mini 200mm Frame is now up at banggood for $12.79 - save 5% with code bestbg
Also now available from the US and UK (EU) warehouses for $13.79 with code bgw002

Wheelbase : 200mm
Empty Rack Height / Assembly Height : 30mm / 65mm
Empty Frame Length / Assembly Length : 168mm / 185mm
Empty Frame Width / Assembly Width : 168mm / 168mm
Empty Weight : 50g

*The size of the battery should less than 70x32x20mm
Features:
-Super lightweight, allows the camera, battery,ESC, image transmission and antenna to be plugged directly on the frame or soldered on the PCB board, much less wiring, easy to install.
-Using 1.6mm PCB integration board, all the electronics can be mounted directly in the mounting hole, reduce the fly line interference.

Got my frame now, so lets have a closer look.

The package, just a bag with the bits in not even a plain box which is disappointing, thankfully lots of padding used by banggood.

Inside is the main frame, and a bag with all the other bits and a 2 sided info sheet
Main frame is 1.6mm thick and legs are 1.25mm

Frame top

The 4 holes at the front and large rectangular hole are for mounting the CC3D and the 4 holes at the middle/back of the frame are for mounting the tarot TL300N 600mw 5.8Ghz vtx

Frame bottom

The legs, Camera plate, Mounting hardware for the CC3D, velcro for battery and 2 cable ties

The camera plate is designed for the smaller cameras like the tarot tl300m

The battery connector which is the wrong way round and an xt30, nice little connector but underrated for this I'd have thought. Will be sticking an xt60 on mine.

Top of the frame with some measurements and info

-Only the front right arm (M2) should have the ESC BEC power wire soldered to the frame to supply power to the CC3D, the other arms all have the pad but it is not connected to anything.
-Solder points to power the ESCs are on the bottom of the board.
-FPV camera power and ground pads are connected directly to the battery traces.

Assembly is fairly simple, the 2 legs and camera plate require either soldering or glueing to the main frame. I went with hot glue for the legs in the hope the glue will fail rather than the legs or frame in a crash.

When assembled and the xt30 plug removed it looks like this

At the front of the frame we find one large rectangular hole and 4 screw holes this is for mounting the cc3d flight controller like so.

Battery wise a 1400mAh nano-tech will fit as you can see but there is not much space for anything physically bigger, this battery being 87 x 34 x 19mm

Assembled weight of the frame is bang on 50g

Overall the frame is fairly decent and the solder points should make it quite a quick and clean build.

Just waiting on my motors, ESCs and fpv camera to arrive now.

It looks nice but too fragile at 1.6mm of pcb

1.6mm isn't as bad as it sounds, my 500mm X mode alien frame is also 1.6mm.
This with its small size and light weight should mean it can take more abuse than we perhaps expect it to be able.

For anyone else that's building a quad with this frame, what motors are you going for?

I can't decide whether to try the bx1306 3100kv or the tarot mt1806 2280kv or stick with the tried and tested DYS 1806 2300kv

I believe the Tarot MT1806 is actually a rebranded Emax MT1806. They are nice motors but in most cases the DYS 1806 delivers more thrust and their weight is the same. So I would opt for the DYS motors, they are cheaper too.

BTW, the CC3D flight controller, wich is Tarot's own choice for this frame, is on a limited sale at Banggood for $13.99. http://www.banggood.com/OpenPilot-CC3D-...-p-937044.html

Got the motors now and one ESC installed just waiting on the others to arrive.

Decided to heat shrink the excess motor wiring together rather than trim just to make it easier to reuse the motors later on.

My build will consist of the following

Black DYS BE1806 motors
Emax 12a ESCs
CC3D flight controller
Diatone 5030 props
Eachine 700TVL Camera with 32CH 5.8Ghz VTX

Battery wise I'll use the 1400mAh nano-techs as I already have some.

the kk2.1 should work fine though its larger size may get in the way of the wiring a bit but you should be able to wok around that

Hey SP, I've been eyeing this wee frame kit for little whiles now.... and finally committed and ordered one from BG along with it's bigger brother TL250A.
I really like it's looks and the PCB is an added bonus, but I just hope it's fairly Tuff because I destroyed my 1st X250 PCB quad learning to fly on it. lol Although I think I'll be a lot more gentle with this one since it will be my wee BL FPV rig instead of a "learning manual flight/orientation platform" my X250 was.

But man, aren't you going a little overboard with the components for this wee 200? I'm building my NightHawk FPV with much of those parts.... (my FPV build parts)i.e. RCX H1808 2400kv + Emax MT1806 2280kv, Emax 12Amp ESCs + 12A Afro ESCs, KK2 +KK2 1.5, 5"+6" plastic and CF props, Sony 4020 +800line Cams + 200mw+400mw Boscam TX.

I also ordered the KK2 mini and a CC3D flight controller to go with the frames that do not support 45mm boards.

With this TL200 frame I was thinking of re-using my smaller ESCs/motors from previous BL builds... i.e. 10amp SimonK ESCs, A1510 22,00kv motors and test if it will viable @2S for more mellow type flights, or just build it as a 3S rig..... ?

I not played with CC3D before but did setup my Afroflight board OK, so it shouldn't be that much a problem... now the long wait for the slow-boat. but will look forwards to your build as it progresses.
