Question
Transmitter batteries

I've got all my parts on the way to build my first Quad, and iv'e also ordered the Turnigy 9X Transmitter and wanted to know what batteries people are using in them?

I was reading this - http://www.rcmodelreviews.com/tendollarbattery.shtml
about using Lithium batteries instead of a Lipo and was wondering what everyone would recommend i get, i certainly don't want to be charging up X amount of AA batteries all the time so would rather use a better battery?

Any advice, and is the Lithium the way to go over a Lipo

You can also uses these. Very long life.
Seems to have a lower self discharge rate than AA NiMh's.

Also available in a "low self discharge" version.

You dont even need to get them from HK. Many suppliers should have some options very similar to this.

I use these too. Mine are 3 years+ old, works great. Just have to remember to charge with a lipo charger. I disconnected my tx charger jack so I wouldn't forget.

Yes ive since stumbled on these and heard they are pretty good so i think i'll be ordering some instead of doing the Mod, it seems like a better option for me anyway.

Thanks Guys

I use this one. If you have a suitable charger, they are absolutely fine....

I bought my Turnigy 9x and it came with a LiFe battery installed. Its been working great, but I have been thinking of selling it because my charger will only do LiPo, not LiFe.... i could buy a life charger but then again I could just buy a lipo battery for it too.
