Covering the wing and tailplane

Finally got to the Grasshopper's wing and tailplane.

I found some yellow Esaki which I put on wet using thinners to re-activate the two coats of clear dope on the airframe. After I've done one piece I coat the edges with a lick of clear dope so I get a good adhesion on the joins.

I managed to knock over the tin of dope halfway through Fortunately I always cover the bench with newspaper when covering, so no damage done apart from to my pocket and my pride.

Well that's it

I finished it last night but I took the photos today in the garden.

I have some time off towards the end of the month so I will probably maiden the Poppet then, along with the X-AC-5.

I forgot to mention that with the ED Baby fitted the CofG came out at the position shown on the plan.

Poppet windshield template

The Poppet plan doesn't give a template for the windshield. I'm posting the one I made. It's not too bad and might be of use to someone.

Many thanks for quick reply & info - seems I was on roughly the right lines, and it's great to have confirmation from someone who's actually flown one!
