I got one of the 5001HV to check it out. Its a really nice servo but they have it geared such that it's not that useful for my stuff. If they cut the speed in half to get more torque, it would probably be a good option. The buldging motor is a little difficult but would probably fit into the K130 / K100. Very well made servo, and smart design, just designed for a different application. I think I have some photos somewhere I'll try to dig up.

Thanks spencer. Peter wick brought these to my attention and I thought they looked like good quality well built servo.
I'm interested in the 5001 and the 3001 as an option for people option for the 2m gizmo.
Have they got any slop etc ??

Tim

They are absurdly fast at .03sec! By far the fastest servo I've ever seen. When you play with one, and see the almost immediate movements, you start to think about inertia of motors and geartrains... Let us know how they work out...

Bruce Alan, and I briefly discussed these on the hill once as a possible option for a K100/130 ele servo.
I agree they look very well made. With the can sticking out aren't they about as thick as a std sized servo? How would you mount them?

The shape of wings and tails usually makes for part of the servo area to be deeper than other parts. For instance, on the K130 flaps, the 17.?mm motor OD will just fit if oriented closer to the spar while the 15mm case will fit as the section tapers at the drag spar. I haven't studied the tail area to see if it would fit. If there was a geared down version with more torque, I would pursue it a little more.
