Do you wear safety goggles/safety glasses when you fly

I know this is a strange one but I never seen anyone at my local flying field with safety goggles/glasses but others are saying they wear them. Just wondering where they are. I figure more veterans post in this section so that is why I posted it here.

Yep, well kinda.

I wear shooting glasses essentially. Impact resistant lenses with polarization. Honestly, I use them more for stopping glare but the extra protection is a plus. Can't hurt. With the head speeds typically being run and the massive amount of energy stored in these spinning blades, the increase in the size of the helicopters being flown, etc.. Yeah, I wear eye protection.

No, not while flying, sunglasses if required....

However, I always wear Safety Glasses when spinning up the equipment on the bench. Old Habits I suppose, I just feel better about it :-)

Technically I'm flying with safety glasses. The Oakley sunglasses I wear are ANSI rated, and polarized to boot. That makes the screen on the DX7 and charger hard to see without taking them off.

Where does it say they are "safety" glasses? The pole asks if you wear safety glasses not sunglasses.

Again not considered safety glasses. If they are safety glasses they will say safety glasses. I am not polling if you are wearing ANSI lense sunglasses just safety glasses.

I will edit the title as some may take it as me asking if you wear Safety goggles or glasses when I am polling if you wear safety glasses/safety goggles. Not polarized sunglasses. Not ANSI lenses. It is either no safety glasses safety goggles or yes safety glasses safety goggles.

Mine have the same rating as safety glasses, just cost more.
If you're asking if I wear the goofy ones you'd buy at Home Depot, then my answer is no.

I wear the clear safety glasses from Home Depot. The sides say Dewalt. I don't even feel stupid wearing them.

I wear polycarbonate lens sunglasses. Not exactly safety glasses but better than nothing. I would not wear glass lenses as these would shatter / splinter in an impact and cause more damage to the eye in my opinion. In low light I wear the yellow tinted jobs, and in bright light the regular dark lenses.

Innovation Plus Prescription flying sunglasses conform to EN 1836 regulations for safety eyewear, and US Z80.3 standards. They offer 100% UVA / UVB protection. A sample of every batch is impact tested at the factory to ensure their strength is up to standard.
