Yes I am tired of all the white myself. I am getting close to finishing the day cabin but there is no off the shelf color in rattle cans for the base color. Most of what I have seen is a mixture custom made. Means airbrush time. Oh well you never know what might happen.

Gravman With your attention to detail it would be a shame to be way off on the color. I don't have the area to properly do a airbrush setup, but would love to make the switch.

Just one more step towards the nuthouse for those of us who have to have it exactly right!

Boat hook

The parts that came from MBH contain a boat hook. Checking some of the photos of the late war boats I noticed that they carried 2 hooks, one on either side of the day cabin. When I took a look at the parts they seemed to be over size and out of scale. I found some actual measurements for the boat hooks and I decided to try and modify the cast head from MBH. This did not work out. This left me no choice but to scratch build one. I plan to make a single master of a complete boat hook and cast it in resin. This way I can make a couple, at least that is the plan.

Boat hook

Today I managed to cast a boat hook. It took several tries but I managed to get it cast. I learned that gravity did not do the job in casting these small pieces. I had to switch to plan B.

Boat hook

I built the attachment pieces for the boat hook. I still have a couple of things to add but I wanted to let you see what I have done so far.
