This is a very fun plane to fly. I had mine out yesterday in "big wind". Flying with a 3s 2100 adds just the right amount of weight to help out stability. I was pleasantly surprised at how well this handles the upwind passes. I would dare say its almost as stable into the wind as downwind but maybe its a matter of perception. In the end its really just a cool, fun plane to fly.

Crash
So I got a bit of video today in the wind
sorry bout the garb at the begining, I don't have any way to edit right now. skip ahead to 1 minute camera definantly doesn't do it justice as far as the speed but it show the capability of this plane in high winds Unfortunantly enough my last pass and touch and go/motor removal was just out of the frame but skip ahead to about 7 minutes for the good part I pulled up just enough to only tag the back half on the ground. the nose is 100% intact LOL sure makes an interesting sound where it hits

What'd you have a tornado passing through? That wind sounded like it was ripping.
![]() Speed wise I think my minipopwing moves faster and faster rolls but again with that much wind it is hard to tell. You're getting some decent vertical though. Lol I was saying aggghhh at the exact same moment as you when it hit. ![]() I thought the kid was filming but he was on the bike at the end. Do you have a helmet cam? Some thick ca and accelerator should help you fix that mount. What size prop are you running? Quote:

Ya I was using an MD80 cam like these
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mini-DV-MD80...item3cc5439d06 strapped to my hat with an elastic band from a work light. I was using a 8x5 master airscrew prop with an Emax Cf2822 motor. look at post #181 for the watt meter data on that setup. I believe that motor is max of 16 amps I think you are correct about the speeds and roll rate. From the videos I've seen of the mini, it rolls much faster than the full sized wing. Although there are a couple of us now working on go fast setups....I have an idea that I might try hehe all I can say right now is ah..... 3200kv and its also requires a 60 amp esc and if that isn't going to work I have a stryker settup I may try!

ok Otto, since you were such a good sport i am going to show my maiden video. i also had a little 'accident' at the end. for speed it is not a good video because i didn't have recommended 6x4 prop size so i was using 5.25x6.25 prop. also 1300mah battery i could not get cg so i carved out battery tray and used 2200mah 3s and it balanced fine after that. the right props came in today so i will be able to test properly soon. here you go:

OHHHH that was a pretty go hit, nosed Er in hard. Hopefully all was ok. Looks like you got yoourself a nice flying plane. I'm sure you'll love the other prop, it should have a bit more torque on the bottom end and also be more responsive to throttle input.
Nice Job Syner Otto Just a heads up I got my new setup on and running tonight. pulls 50 amps and 430 watts on 3s and who knows what 4s will do!!!! I'll keep you filled in fosho |
