Yeah guys I do need a good strong bond for this design.
I bought some Slow Cure 30 Min Epoxy, so fingers crossed that should do it. My next consideration is whether to redesign the tail section so that the tail blades can be mounted on the correct side. Does anyone know what paint colour would match the original canopy? Kev

I'm trying the research the exact variant of the UH-1 this build is, I've found this on the net that seems to suggest that it is a UH-1H.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/loki69/4864406938 However some picture on the net also claim the be showing that variation but it is slightly different either with or without the tail blades on the opposite side and usually with the exhaust pointing upwards. This seems to suggest UH-1C http://www.flickr.com/photos/judgerock/2984087423/ Does anyone have any expert knowledge? Cheers Kev |

Thanks Paul and Cap.
So decision made I need to convert the tail rotor to be on the opposite side, although I will keep the blades coming up into the wash. I'm going to change some of the paint job to match this as it will cover up my modification at the back http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Be..._in_flight.jpg Paul: What sort of posh frock are you getting? Hi guys,
I'd like to share my scale build, I thought some guys might find some experience info useful. I started off on my HK450GT and a Heli Artist UH-1. First thing I noticed with this fuse is thick construction and a sturdy build, unfortunately it was heavy and rudder servo placement was quite a challenge. ![]() ![]() Another issue I encountered with this type of fuselage is the elevated tail rotor system which meant that the tail rotor has to be installed with with an elbow kind of mount and a longer belt. ![]() However it was unfortunate that the included hardware in the elbow system didn't have bearings on the belt pulley, but rather a set of bushings only. In my first test flight without the UH-1 fuse, these bushings failed and almost melted the pulleys. ![]() ![]() I also found somewhere in this forum, a modification was done by replacing the plastic belt pulleys with the light weight tail shaft and installing the flanged bearings as well in to the FRP plates. (sorry I can't seem to locate the photo anymore). Here are a few photos, feel free to ask. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() So eventually the tail elbow pulley became a recurring issue and so I abandoned the project and sold the fuse. For your first scale fuse, It would be less the trouble by choosing the fuse with straight tail assemblies rather than the elevated like this UH-1, B0-9, UH-60 or AH-64. The Jet Ranger, MD-500, Air Wolf and the likes are my preference. Hope it helps. |

Here she is now Kev, all dressed up in her best party dress, just need a break in the weather for the re maiden.
It was a very easy install. The fuselage is cavernous so access to even the rear mounting screws didn't present any issues. Took about 3 hours altogether and must rate as one of the easiest installs I have ever done.
