Module Into Futaba 8JN
I picked up a really nice Futaba 8JN at the Toledo show and want to convert to 2.4 using a DIY module from Orange 2.4 DSMx compatible (requires + - and ppm.
This unit has an old style module with 10 pins (so FRSky module won't work here) and the round 5 pin DIN on the side.
I am trying to confirm the following:
1. Is this Futaba negative shift thus needing signal inverted?
2. I found the following pinout for another Futaba 5 pin DIN as follows:
1 = signal ppm/pcm (use ppm on sim software)
2 = ground both charge and/or ppm signal
3 = battery positive + (if linked to 5 tx wil power up on insert of plug,
but no tx signal, and the power meter will not go up indicating that
4 = positive + for charger, only works when tx power swith is turned off
5 = linkable to 3 to power the tx on plug insert
Does this look correct?
I'm thinking the place to connect is at the 5 pin DIN plug unless someone has a better idea?
Space internally is really tight so I may have to remove the old module to make room therefore if I knew the pinout for the 10 pin connector that might also work.
I'm trying to retain the built in functionality which includes servo reversing and centering controls as well as roll buttons.
Would appreciate any input to help me get this done.
With some help have found 10 pin configuration
left to right as you look at back of TX with module removed
1-2 PPM This PPM is Positive Shift!
Have hooked up DIY module and it works perfectly.
Want to refit DFT module in old AM module case and looking for DFT module pinout now.
