Should I do a brushless conversion of my Kyosho Jet stream 1000

Hey all I've been into boats for years but got out before all of this brushless stuff started. What I have now is a Kyosho Jet stream 1000 with a .21 Nitro motor in it. I was wondering what would be a good brushless set up for this boa?t I'd like to get it moving into the 40-50 mph range if possible. I'd like to try to keep the parts bill below $300. Thanks in advance.
David

Here's a guy that converted one, he stares at it for the first 4 minutes of the video, when he runs it(at 04:00) it does pretty well. I'd go with a big outrunner in the 1000kv range on 6s, you dont want huge rpms going thru that driveline, just prop up!

Thanks David

I would keep the rpms down and use a bigger prop. That driveline is older and wasnt meant for high rpms and brushless power, but lowering rpms to the 20,000 range should do well.

Of the motors listed I would go with the 4084 1050kv on 6s2p. That's a perfect 8s motor for modern boats but great for your boat on 6s2p.

Worst case scenario is your stock driveline wont hold up and you add a modern one, so try it as it is......................just my opinion.

I dont know what your stock prop is but I would try a 45-48mm to start out.

Can you couple that motor to your driveline...................right size and all?

I'd go with the 200a ESC

All I know is that its a metal prop lol I bought it off a guy used about 11 years ago and I've only run it twice. Also can you use airplane Lipos with boats?

You can measure the prop diameter from tip to tip easily as i'm sure you are aware.

Do those airplane lipos have the ailerons.................some dont have them.

Couldnt resist a joke there

You can run any battery in anything if it can handle the amps. If they are 30c or better they will work, 40C+ is better

5000mah I use them to fly my ducted fan ME-262. Also I'm not sure my drive line will fit that motor as the boat is setup for a nitro engine.
