Missing planes and my van that carried them

On 11-22-2014 my 1976 MRC Cessna 177 Cardinal 2 and my brand new 46 size Saegull CAP 232 flew 1 time. Also my new Super Tigre 3000 325 32cc with a18x10 prop on it, radios tools alot of stuff for me to loose. When i was at work some scum bag stole my old 1998 mini van full of my plane stuff while i was at work. Rite out of my work lot. I'm sick over this hole thing. IT was locked with an alarm on . Now i have no car or planes. It's enough to make me almost quit flying. I just started getting back into my rc planes after 30 plus years. And then this?

I am sorry for your loss. That is totally rotten of someone to do that. I wish you all the best at getting it back without damage and your gear too.

are you a member of the AMA?

if so, they can help you recover or replace your stolen items!

they will cover whatever your auto insurance doesn't!

Fellow vehicle theft/RC airplane theft victum here.

It's a sickening feeling for sure. When my SUV was stolen I seriously want to throw up and that was before I went over in my head everything that was in it.

Yes the AMA will help you, I have a friend who they recently helped after his truck was broken into. The only thing is you HAVE TO HAVE A POLICE REPORT.

In my case I didn't have one taken as their basically was a empty parking spot with not even a shard of glass (they punched the lock out) or any evidence at all that I was ever parked there. I at the time did not know of the AMA requirement of the police report otherwise I would of filed one obviously.

Right now about all you can do it check your local craigslist for stolen items, if you do see something that is yours pretend you want to buy it and show up with the PD.

Also you may get your vehicle back, I did. The police all across the country are using automatic plate reading technology that some say is a huge invasion of privacy but as a person who has had their vehicle stolen before and recovered 99% intact I am fine with it.
Of course my planes, 1/8 buggy, 2 TXs, Gopro, tool box, batteries, ect were all gone but way more sentimental items like a picture of my 14 year old dog as a puppy were still there.

Your AMA number is on record with the AMA, so that isn't a problem.
You can look it up online at the AMA site.

I hate hearing things like this.... I'm sorry for your loss and I hope you have a good outcome.
This is not the same world that we lived in 30 or more yrs ago! the days kids stayed out playing on summer nights well after dark. running to the store and leaving your house unlocked. and feeling safe about it. nope not today! the scum of the earth is watching your every move!
It's a bad feeling, even here in a small Ms town I don't feel safe out at night, or any givin time for that matter, unless I have my trusty friend Mr Glock with me at all times!
Good luck and I hope you recover your property. mainly I hope they catch and prosecute the scumbag that stole it!

ANOTHER act of kindness has just been witnessed on RCG. Isn't this a great group!!

Best of luck recovering your van and RC gear. I can't imagine what it would be like having my stuff stolen.

AMA insurance is only up to $1000, but should cover this loss with a police report.
