Ok Dwayne...as you said you have "respect" for Groovejet...well then you obviously don't follow any of the SW/WP threads,as he is ALWAYS honest about what he does not like in one of the new models that comes out when he does a review....He has always said when there is something he doesn't like....
So if you have designed so many "successful" planes why are you toying around with an EPP 37" foamie...???
Supply us with better than.Yes I do agree imo this is not the best flying foamie out there.SW is the best you'll find!but this plane DOES NOT NEED TO BE BUTCHERED!!!!!point.
So let's leave it at that and refrain from telling people to bloody well go and butcher the plane....
You clearly have never seen a fullsize MX2 have you
So I will say it AGAIN the wing and elevator stab is NOT inline with the thrustline...the elevator stab sits higher...so I can see WM's thinking in trying to keep it sort of scale looking...
Even the Goldwing 30 and 50CC gassers(which happen to fly and 3d very well) also don't have the elevator stab in the thrustline as most earobatic/3d planes do....
But please,if your such an amazing designer send me one of your amazing flying planes....
Maybe then I'll condone you telling everyone to go butcher a well flying plane(again i agree it's not the best ever)but it's a good flying plane that will do anything in the book...as shown in Grovejet's vid above...and those rollers are pretty close to being almost axial....
Just to put it out there,as I have said way early in the thread I maidened mine at 2AM in howling wind of probably 30mph if not more with glowsticks...and in a parkinglot and it was fun and easily enough controllable.....
nuff said about this now...All it comes down to is that myself and probably a few others don't like to see you tell everyone to go butcher up a well flying plane.they can read your comments and decide for themselves or ask you about it.I think it's more your preference and flying style that for you makes it beneficial...I've watched your vids and you fly well, although it's more just close rollers and torquerolling...Never seen anything else really showing any KE's ect
So lets all go peacefull and enjoy a good flying plane without butchering it to death
(ps I'd like to try one of your planes designed by you)
Yes there are additions one can make to suit one's flyingstyle and what behaviour you like, but I certainly don't believe butchering it to death is the way to go.....

Oh and one more thing..this statement
"I know i am not a pro Pilot either, but i can make a plane show any deficiencies as good as anyone."
Why are you not a team pilot or lead designer for ANY of the big 3 3d manufacturers(PA,EF & 3DHS)???
I guess because you design or "have designed" better planes?
As said, supply me with one of your "amazing planes"(in particular an MX2) and prove your statements when so many find this model a well flying plane with no butchering nesassary....

See Aviation Modeller Feb 2000, i have a 5 page article on two of my designs and an article on a variable thrust mount i designed. The model featuring my pull out plan was drawn by me and all the five pages written by me. I also have a patent for a feature on a transmitter, ironically it is a safety feature, which may make some people smile knowing how dangerous i fly The reason i bought a plane is because i wanted an aerofoil wing, it is therefore cheaper to buy one than to build one. I also have six of my own designs on the foamie scratch build threads. Lounge, Rasta, HaveIt, Abba, Mad4It and Home. From my own model company i have sold my own designed glider sharks to Australia and a glider killer whale to Norway, i could go on and on and on......
If you go on the Hobbyking site, you will have to look at all listings (international, us, uk euro and Australia). There are several people saying the model tucks, that it is difficult to land. Even on this thread there are people saying this, it's NOT only me.
It's just very wrong somebody is hounded off for offering their findings to others which is the foundation of this site. I have flown another EPP model today and realized even more how badly designed that MX2 is. However i have always said, with mods it is a fantastic plane, it is, i miss it very much.
Ohhhhhh that reminds me, i forgot to harp on about the fact there is no structural integrity designed into this model, no carbon, no runners, nothing, the plane is just a solid piece of foam and obviously just breaks in half the first time you have the mildest of knocks. Ohh and the landing gear is useless, again not designed to absorb any kind of light arrival.
Soooooo why can't i tell people it is a bad design? I thought that's what this site was all about..... sharing, seems some of you only want to share the good and none of the bad, maybe you have shares in WM or HK?

Bad design or not, I want one, ordered it the other day, and dang if it isn't on backorder! Guess I'll just have to wait before joining the fray.

If only i had shares in HK or WM....
To try get an article of 14 years ago is a little hard now...
My point from the beginning was that it doesn't need to be butchered to hell. That's all.And if you actually read through the thread you will see I did say in the beginning I didn't like it,as it was very pitch sensitive....But that was a setup problem and having a WAY to big motor on the font.and yes I did from the beginning say the LG is sh*t
but hard to land???no way!this thing is a little puppy to land.slow 3pointer and bam, she's down, even with the crappy LG.and after doing my LG mod it lands even easier.
Ok enough of this bickering now...it's getting tiring.let's just go about and enjoy our beautiful hobby.
Lets just agree to disagree on our experiences and findings.
I did not find the tuck problem though, but maybe that's because I mixed in a KE mix from the start...
