Poll
Which would you choose out of the 3?

I am looking for a sporty 3D capable aircraft and at the moment don't know which is best.

I have always liked the edge and always will but the katana seems tempting due to what I have seen at my local club and the Extra just seems bigger and its a Precision aerobatics craft.

Here are the links:

Extra: http://www.precisionaerobatics.com/p...ils.php?pid=52
Katana Mini: http://www.precisionaerobatics.com/p...ls.php?pid=229
Edge 540: http://www.kyosho.com/eng/products/r...duct_id=100409

can you please state why you chose what you did as I don't know all the pros and cons of each aircraft.

If there is another plane i should look into then please give me a link

Thanks,
Willit

I prefer edges, but haven't had any experience with any of the above aircraft. Many pilots seem to be happy with either of the PA planes.

Can't really say the same for the Edge. It's a .50 glow sized plane though, whereas the PA planes are .25 glow

The Kyosho Edge is much bigger... the Hyperion 25e Edge is a much closer match to the other two. PA is probably the better manufacturer, but not necessarily by much... and the Extra is their latest and greatest in this size.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say the PA Extra wins this one..

I'd probably buy the Addiction though..

Have you looked at the 3Dhobbyshop Extra 47" or other 3dhs stuff. They have high quality stuff and have a large following in the 3D forum.

My vote would go for the Extra SHP 47" from 3dhs.

The Ultimate comes with a "paired" wing set.. They set the incidence and everything, number the wings, pair them up with the fuse and make sure they get the right set to you..

I have a short list of 3D birds I want..

A couple PA birds are on it..
A couple 3DHS are on it..

I'd like to get a Velox.. It looks nuts.. I'd love to have an Addiction too..

I'd just go with 3DHS and be done with it otherwise when you do get around to trying their planes you'll wonder why you didn't sooner. Got a full range of 3D planes too. Especially if you are flying off grass they make the strongest undercarriages. The SHP is a good starting point. Jeff why don't you try the Slick its the best of both worlds, I'm flying my Slick and my Velox today.

I have a PA Kantana Mini, and it's a pretty good airframe. I don't need any

more 3D airframes right now, but if I did I'd look at the 40" and 47" Edge's

from 3DHS.

Not to complicate things, but take a look at the mini-Funtana. I had a 60 size Funtana and was impressed at the stability compared to other 3D platforms. It is quite forgiving, yet capable of the most extreme maneuvers.

Jeff I am trying desperately not to go bigger than the 51" slick, it flies like a much bigger plane anyway and takes much cheaper batteries, I promised myself I would not go bigger than 47" but then the Slick came along so please don't mention the 70" Slick!

Don't get the Funtana or the mini Katana you will be making a mistake, they were not too bad for the old days but things have moved on a long way since then. I believe the Katana MD is ok though if you must.

Yeh, I was trying to stay around the 45" mark with electrics and then somehow wound up with a 50cc bird, but I'm going gas on it..

I'd really love to have a 70" Velox, but we'll see..

I have heared about bad service from kyosho and have almost dropped the edge. I will look at the extreme flight range.

Feel free to show off any PA or extreme flight aircraft here as well. is aways good to see other types as well.

what colour does the katana mini look best in; I can't decide
