Just build it up out of foam. It will take more abuse that way as well.

It won't hurt if a new "fabricated" nose is heavier... remember, there's a heavy metal slug weight in the cockpit that can be moved or removed to accomodate weight balance changes.

It was an afterthought. They added tail rudder servos to an existing design and realized it wouldn't fly without the counterweight.

It will fly better if you move the weight up under the "dash.". . At least mine did.

Or you can pull the gear, nose servo, AND weight and mod the battery box for a 3300...

I'm lovin the above setup! Hotter power system AND longer flight times. : )

it must look cool sans the gear, but for me the most fun w/ this one is the landings that are so easy to grease as the crowd cheers

chuck.

I installed that and didn't see any difference. I'm using a 2200 4S 65C battery with a 10 blade fan. Stock motor seemed just as fast as the one linked above.

I used the change sun 10 blade from HK. It did not make the airplane faster at all, but it did make it much quieter and sound a lot more like the "whooshing" noise you get from a jet. My biggest problem with an EDF is that screeching sound from 4-5 blade fans. The guys at the club love it too.

have the same issues w/ mine , i have balanced motors, fans and then dynamically balanced the hole mess. 6 blade fan is better than the 5, but not quiet by any means. so..... i also ordered the c/s 10 blade and will try it . if i can throw a few more watts at it and have similar performance w/ the noise reduction i will call it a success .

what kind of watts are u seeing w/ what battery, if u dont mind ? my fans should be here any time and i have a few motors to choose from , so your info will help.

thanks , chuck.

I do not See the counter waight in my jet and it has working rudders. i tryed using a battery that was one once lighter and she acted all crazy on take off and ended up braking in half so i guess that battery weight is good..

The stock weight location is in the bottom of the fuselage, in the belly behind the cockpit just ahead of the battery compartment. Mine worked better with the weight gorilla-glued to the floor under the cockpit dash.
