Absolutely incredible work Ian. An entertaining watch the whole time and as usual, the perfect use of music to action...bravo!! Thanks for that.

Great flying Ian and crew! Awesome to see the beauty of Colorado, Utah and Montana close up from the air!

I've been thinking seriously about FPV models. One guy in my club has a penguin, but it's kinda slow and boring. This one looks pretty exciting.

Penguin is about as slow as it gets. I wouldn't start with a Drak though. It's an intermediate to advanced model. Bixler, Sky Surfer or Skywalker are better starters.

the guy is pretty proud of the Drak too. Bixler looks like it might as well be a penguin. Skywalker that's at H.K. looks pretty good. I still need to learn all the ins and outs of what system to get. Head tracking, 2.4 or 5.8...it's all still confusing to me. I want to fly out...maybe not quite as far as you're doing though. I have all of P.M.I. to fly over.

Ian you make it look easy, but the few times I've flown fpv I've noticed that the ground and other hard objects are a lot closer than they appear. I landed once and thought I was still 6ft over the ground. Those shots where you dive in must be really close!

Bit late but sun's finally out and too windy for FPV, so I'm headed up to Zion.

Strong and steady at the switchback all afternoon n. Flew ballasted bee
for a few minutes and then broke out the Apex for 40 minutes of big air
moves. Karl was out for a bike ride and stopped to chat for a while and catch up.
Then I put the Apex back up, and flew to sunset. Two zero ground speed landings.
Landing back there is less stressful than on the front of the mountain.

Anyone pick up any slope goodies at the Jeffco Auction?

The short time I was there seemed like the glider slope stuff was going for okay prices (higher than the power stuff on average). The crowd seemed smaller and didn't seem to be as many things for sale.

I didn't get much, scroll saw, 5.5 foot red rocket to display in the shop or house, and a micro heli for parts as I already have the same one NIB.

No hiking around Zion for me for a while. I messed up my foot playing hockey a week ago and am not very mobile. It's not broke, but a break would probably heal faster. Dislocated it and messed up all the ligaments.

Hopefully I'll get some slope stuff back in working order soon. All my non-foam weapons are in the repair pile.

I think they are going to need to fix the auction if it is going to remain in the future. Most of the good stuff was gone before the public had a shot at it.

Did something similar to my left ankle many years ago. Had my foot squirt off of a motorcycle peg landing from a high speed jump and ran it over with the rear tire. Incredibly painful. Not sure which was worse, the ankle or the knee. At any rate, it took a good year and a half for it to get better and has never been right since. If you can get some physical therapy I would take it. I didn't back then and I am sure it was a mistake.

I kind of know where you are coming from so I hope your recovery goes well.

Looked like we only had about half the stuff we had last year. No decent slope stuff. Haven't heard any numbers yet but not looking good for next year.

Dean: Wow! Do I understand you correctly that the Jeffco auction might be kaput in the future? What a bummer! How will I get rid of all that old glow stuff that I don't fly anymore? Maybe some other club will pick it up at a less expensive venue?

Might you know where I can purchase some 1 meter (long) x +/- 0.85 mm (less than 1 mm) diameter pultruded (unidirectional) carbon rods along with its sheaths which has approximately a 2 mm OD. This is for my purple, Salto glider.
