Graupner 12x10, 12x9

Hi,

Has anybody used this prop (12x10) at high power levels? I am looking for a high pitch folder, for use with a Kontronik Fun400-42 4.4:1, with 8 cells (CP1300/1700). I used a grapner 11x8 with sucess, but I'm looking for more power. I tried this 12x10, and the amps went up a lot, but the climb was not improved much. Anybody have any better props for this combo?

I would like to try the 12x9 Aeronaut, but Aerp-model is B.O. Anybody know of another source for these props?

-Simon

I was using an 11x8 with a Speed 600 on a 2.8:1 gearbox using 10 SCR cells for a Seledkin flying at 59oz. When I switched to 12x10 my climb had more authority. Enough that I was pleased. I don't think one can expect an enormous amount of difference, in switching from an 11x8 to a 12x10, but it will be noticable, as you say yours was. Have fun - and keep experimenting with props - it pays off (and it's fun too).

The WHITE 12x10 that graupner sells to match their 2.8 planetary gear drive on S500/600 is not a high RPM prop and specifically says so. I have one at home and can check the package for the Max RPM if you wish.....my bad memory is coughing up 7200 rpm but i may be wrong

the graupner 12x10 max RPM is 7,000.

I use the aero-naut 12x9 prop with a 4:1 gearbox and a kyosho atomic force (17 turn) car motor with good results.

BTW, graupner introduced this year a 13x10 prop in addition to the existing 12x10.

Yes, I know about the RPM limit on this prop. I am actually running it a bit below this I believe. The 11x8 CAM prop has the same limit... I will get the Aeronaut 12x9 ASAP, I feel that this white prop is just not giving me the thrust I want.

Thanks,

Simon
