Your 87 will be fine for really hard flying......I know a few 87's that have had some really serious abuse in the air and keep coming back for more.

I don't think I'd advise WIDE OPEN DOWNLINE into FULL BLENDER...but I've been known to do a blender with a giant scale....I try not to do one after a wide open-downline though.....

I even do blenders with my 103 and 104....for the first 150 flights...they've held up very well!!!

in general, "full power", "giant scale" and "down line" don't mix. pick any two, but not all three

You'll see Joe apply some power in downlines with the 104 and 87 and such, but he's actually doing a little bit of a magic act in going from stall to a speed that the plane normally sees at full throttle on the flat, then he starts pulsing. ie: he's actually being quite mindful of the speed. So looks like he's doing the big no-no, but he's actually presenting the speed of a horizontal maneuver in a different way that looks more awesome.

it's looking like 103's will be just missing the "spring" and hit during the summer.

This made me recall....ONCE upon a time...I was having fun doing blenders with my little 46 vyper.....I thought it got to be more fun the faster you enter....after all....it was JUST a little 46" plane.....and kindof a beater at that point too.........

Soon, it became wide open entry.....on the downline...into a blender with the little 46vyper.......but I got a much DIFFERENT result.....

The airframe had no trouble...but when servos blow-back due to STUPIDly excessive entry speed pointed straight down.....it gets really interesting.....

I learned a lesson on wide-open downlines that day....and how to change gears in a 65mg....

yeah, WOT downline blenders on the 4s VR1 are head turners, too. very amusing.

which reminds me...any eta on VR1 motorbox kits?
