Tried the Zippy 6s 5000mah batt from HobbyKing

I ordered a few of THESE to try out since they're only $80 apiece - and I have to say they've been holding up nicely! I have 40 cycles on one and 20 on the other, and they still pack a decent punch for the price!

When I compare it to a 6s 5300mah 30C Gens Ace battery, I notice the Gen's Ace is only *slightly* harder to bog when REALLY smacking it around hard (full pos/neg collective with full cyclic) but the zippies are really good for the price (especially if you're just doing sport flying)

Just wanted to give my opinion on them - anyone else tried them ?

Yep, those and the Turnigy's. But I won't go below 45c. The ripple effect is pretty bad below 40c hammering the big ones. I lost my last esc due to this on my Goblin. I did notice a degrading of punch overall by about the 30th cycle on them.

Just ordered a 3000mah 40c for 500, so we'll see. I've heard they're ok. The Turnigys are all back ordered so time to try one. I believe the Zippy 40c are the equivalent of Gensace 25c.

I just recieved one today. After reading your post i thought i would give one a try @ only $80 for a 6s "45c" 5000mah battery. Took 4 days from time of order. All cells came in at 3.80....Now to see how they stand up to the test of time -n- flights on a chaos 600e.

Are you guys removing the 5.5mm bullets and replacing them with your connector of choice or just using a battery adapter?

I really, really don't like the idea of soldering wire that large.

Replacing and going with EC5's. I use a Butain torch to solder with the bigger stuff.

Wish they would just put a normal connector on those, who uses separate 5.5mm bullets for batteries?

I know right..I saw those and was dumbfounded. I cant even think of anything that uses those ..In a perfect world they would put EC5's on all 6s 5000mah batts.

EC5's are proprietary to Eflight though. If it was HK then they'd be using XT60 and XT90

Still don't know why a 30c battery needs massive wires like that either when the things that use a 5000mah 6S 30c battery are using speed controllers with 12 AWG wire.

I do. It is so much cleaner when wiring them in series for 12s than the complex soldering it takes to setup XT90s.

The thick wiring is s good thing. Less chances of running in to problems. I agree though that EC5s are a great match for these lipos.

I just received the Zippy 3000mah 40c. It looks balanced. I also received 2 Gensace 25c, 2600mah for 500 and 4000mah for 550. I don't fly either of those at the park, so I'll have to wait till this weekend to check flight times. I'll start with 4mins on each and maybe end up going to 5mins or maybe even 5.5mins . I'm shooting for 3.83 per cell.
