It's true. A photo without explanation can create 2,000 words worth of questions.

As seen from the attached pictures, there may be reason to doubt the scincerity of this post.

Whanderson you're aware that I was spoofing an old anti-drug commercial in the 80's and that those pictures were Photoshopped, right? It's hard to tell if one is being sarcastic on here without emoticons.

Yes, I am aware of your atempted spoof. No, I am not being sarcastic (although I am seriously tempted). The point remains, without expaination the pictures are suspect of being LiPo bashing.

Sometimes, you need 2001 words to actually explain something.
If you have something useful to contribute to the forums (i.e. an explanation of the problem that caused the pack to burn) then please feel free to post another thread with that information.

(Since the explanation was posted, I have opened this thread and merged the explanation thread in here)

2001 words - The rest of the story

Andy and I must have hit the submit key at the same time. I sent an explanation and he hit the close thread key.

I did not feel that an explanation was necessary. My apologies!

The message was "Be Cautious" as stated and it is still the message. I did not post this in the LIPO section as there is not one. I did not list "lipos" because I was not targeting them.

I am a proponent of LIPOs and I sell them in my store with great pride. This pack was mistreated by a customer. The picture was intended to display caution. We must continue to be ever cautious with our BATTERIES!

If I had felt the need to alter the photo I would have removed the colored leads to protect the manf. I did/do not feel the need. I am not attacking the manf or the technology.

My apologies for posting a picture that lead people to make ASSUMPTIONS!

Let me further state I am not being sarcastic, not being rude, not being judgemental. I am being serious and polite. My intention is to cause thought and concern when we charge our batteries.

Ah, I see. I think a lot of people (including myself) took that thread the wrong way. Perhaps next time you can include the details in the original post; this would serve as a "what not to do" for people that have recently taken the plunge. I'm glad everyone is OK and you were able to document it to show the major responsibility these batteries are.

"This pack was mistreated by a customer. "

Would you elaborate on that? I'd be interested in what caused the cell to self destruct so I don't repeat that mistake.
