Available new from an Australian suppler, but would google locally for a shop that still has stock.

Since I really like how this plane flies I decided to give her some upgrades. I think the interior design is super antiquated so I carved it out and added 1/16 birch frames to stiffen up the fuselage and add more room inside. I also added a Dr Madthrust Cannon system that I modified the LEDs to 7000mdl 3mm clear white. I also stiffened the Stab with carbon fiber.

Cool!

I have one I am flying now. It has a lot of wear and tear on it.

I also have one NIB. In my opinion, fuselage space, wing stiffness, and wing attach points were weaknesses of the design.

The birch ply thing could very well buy fuselage space as well as provide better wing attach points.

I am interested in how you make out. It might ispire me to try out a few ideas on the beater before I have at the one NIB.

thanks for posting.

Cheers!

I got inspired by my Durafly Bf 110 that had ply stiffeners. The 110 fuselage is stiff as a board. Your idea about the wing attachment point is good. I wasn't going to do that initially, but now that you mention it that is a great idea. The forward part of the fuselage where the gun bulges are is still weak. I may just put in a piece of carbon stringer in that area.

It is an easy flyer. Feels like a trainer sometimes. Floaty and can really hot dog it if you pour on the coals. If you make her too heavy though she will want to tip stall all the time. Keep her light and you can't tip stall her. The key is to keep her light.

The wing folds as a result of your first turn. its too tight, and puts way too much G on the wing. i do believe the resulting crash to be at the fault of too much elevator in the first turn, if you look at your first turn step by step, you can see it start to fold, then when you level out, its just destined for a horrible crash.

1 thing i did find out about the 109, is that the elevator is very sensitive.

it is an unfortunate accident,

If you do manage to get her back to flying fitness. may i recommend you putting carbon spars through the wings. this will greatly increase their strength.
