As far as I could tell, this is the mini rigger, so way too small for that much battery.

Hobbyking doesn't sell a 31" outrigger, just a 19.5" one.

and pre built

Now it makes sense. A 31" rigger will be best on 4s, especially a skinny one with limited room in the tub.. The R2 hull will need some beefing up to be a solid boat, and the sponsons are the wrong shape to be as quick as an outrigger should be.

3660 (or a 3674 if it'll fit) around 2000kv on 4s.

The sponsons are all wrong, the only "fix" is to build new ones. The sponsons on this hull are shaped like mini v hulls, far from ideal.

As far as the "Sponson" boat goes, it was designed by Tom Moorehouse (at least so he says) and was stolen from his Firefighter line of 'riggers.
The Zippkits 'riggers are much better.

It's basically a scaled down version of the old Predator. (see below)
I glued mine together the other night on the coffee table while watching TV. Very easy thing to do. I've sealed all the inside of the tub & sponsons & I'll add some expanding Eco Foam in the sponsons, sand them flat & glue the tops on.
One thing I do find strange though, is that the off set of the motor & drive line seems to be set up for a boat doing left turns rather than the more common right turns.
But I quite like this little baby.
As I'm going to put a ducted fan on it I guess I should do a bit of a build thread on it, instead of cluttering up this thread.

That sounds like a good reason to build your own from plans rather than build off of something cheap.

There's a few plans here to choose from.

The easiest scratch build would be the Predator that I posted in post #25. You can scale it up to any size you want.
Ps.
I've finished the little HK rigger. I'll do a bit of a build thread on it.
