Personally, Ithink the X8 is crap and the X5 is not far behind. The mods required to make an X8 flyable are ridiculous and if you put any weight in an X5 it quickly becomes unflyable.

Very true. I've flown both, wish I'd have spent the money on something else in both cases. (Beer would have been a better investment. )

The easy way to launch an X-5

This is a demo of shake and launch.

Shake and launch is a feature of the GluonPilot autopilot. (GluonPilotUSa.com)

The video shows an X-5 taking off in stabilized mode with auto launch.

Testing shake & launch (0 min 24 sec)


Note the transmitter sitting on the ground during launch.
