I live about 25 miles from Steve in Nashville I could drive over if need be.

Just got back on the group after a couple of weeks with computer and wireless trouble.Computers are great until they break down.
DW great to hear that you are getting everything set up in the Far East. Good Luck with your new job and be sure to stay in the group and post some photos of you sailing over there. Wanted to say that now as you said that you will be busy on the big boy boats for the next couple of weeks and then you will be really busy moving half way around the world.

Hey guys. I'm in the market for a new/used Nirvana 2, which are very hard to find on the net.

Can anyone refer me to a dealer or private seller?

Thanks.

The cement pond

Went down to the cement pond last night.
Quite a turnout.
The local club was there as usual on Thursday evenings, and we had everything from WW 1 ironclads to sailboats, tugs, and trawlers running around in the pond.
Had to be alert!

Surprisingly there was at one time, about 5 or 6 sheet-boats in the water, mine and Gravitars' Nirvanas, a few Victorias, a Soling M, and an old Dumas all wood kit sailboat.
A gentle breeze was blowing off the lake, which eventually tapered off to no breeze.
At least it was cooled by the lake.
So we sailed as long as we could and then the power boats took over.

Grav tried sailing in Lake Ontario (just behind us), as I had the night before, but the conditions were not as appealing, (choppy waves and no wind).
I think he got bored and went home.
Don't blame him, I did too shortly after he did.

It was nice to see so many finely crafted boats on the water, and for the most part everyone had a great time.
Lots of kibitzing, and discourse!

Of course for the first time in years, I forgot my smart-phone at home in the charger, so I didn't get any pictures. Sorry guys.

BTW,
The club (Confederation Marine Modelers), is having their annual regatta on Sunday, July the 8th, at 9 AM at this same pond if anyone within visiting distance is reading this.
It's at Spencer Smith Park in Burlington Ontario.
Bring sun screen and water!

Raehm, Steve Lang is the North American distributor at www.sailrc.com

You can buy directly from him.

Good choice BTW.

As for used, they are in demand, but sometime Ebay or kijiji has some, or even some of the members of this forum.

Good luck.

Thanks. From my research, there is a lot of junk out there...just like planes.

This boat looks good! Ordered the FM equipped boat, knowing that I will upgrade to my 2.4ghz tx and rx!

Good decision! The boat is the same so you saved some money and once you set up your 2.4 system you are really to rock n roll!

Welcome to the group! Enjoy

Thanks, I'm looking forward to it. I'm in Cincinnati for the summer, and need to find a nearby lake. That won't be a problem in Charleston, SC, where sailing will be a stone's throw from my house. That's Colonial Lake.

Sailing in Cincinnati

Raehm, Depending on where you live. Eastside is Eden Park it is off of Victory Pkwy. There are two cement ponds Mirror Lake is the larger of the two. The smaller might not be deep enough for the Nivana keel. Northside there is a lake at the old Voice of America Park of of I-75 in the Lakota area. West side sorry. I hope this helps.

I've never been too keen on the AMA clubs. They tend to look down on us RTF Parkzone Electric flyers, but perhaps I should reconsider. I'm a long-time rag-bagger, so migrating to RC sailboats has always been in the back of my mind. But after being kicked out of Otto Armleder and Clear Creek Park in Anderson Twp for flying, that hastened my decision to buy the Nirvana boat.

I'm in Hyde Park and was definitely considering the larger pond at Eden (with the fountain). I wondered if it was deep enough but, then again, one could always easily retrieve one' boat in this 'cement pond'!

There is a soling club somewhere north of here. Perhaps that is at Lakota location.
