To get them to hover well and still keep line tension you need to set the engine offset at something like 35 degrees, otherwise it'll fly straight at you.

I've seen carrier, however If I were to pick up a new interest in CL flying, I'd probably go with those huge scale planes. Or design a FC plane around a .65 or larger race engine, fly that sucker on 75 or 80 foot lines at 125+ MPH on 10% nitro.
