Got my wingnetic today......built in less than an hour (using own glue).......went out for the maiden.......and smashed it to pieces on launch due to the tiny finger holes not giving me enough grip on the plane.
pictures and video to follow.

but a note to all....take care on launch.

Man that sucks. A little trick I learned. Glue some medium grit sand paper into the divots of the grips. Helps a bunch!

Hey Fenton! (see you on the "Ominus" thread!) Anyway just ordered the Wingnetic . While I was surfing the HK site an add popped up offering the PNF version for $77!!! so I thought WTH!!?? I was thinking of buying a motor, folding prop, ESC etc. for a glider I'm re-building, and fiqured if I crash this I can use all the stuff in other planes? I'm interested if others have flown this yet??

At 32" WS it's small enough to throw in the car and go! Hope it's a decent flyer??

Oh man!!! that bites!! Sorry for your problem, I just ordered a Wingnetic from HK! Will you be able to save yours?

Now you got me thinking about other launch techniques? hold by wingtip? or overhand grasp over the canopy and toss underhand?

Think I'll be going with the wing tip launch.

Should be able to fix it but needs a new prop, adapter, motor mount and canopy.....and a nose section if I didn't want to glue it together.....issue I have is the weights are all wrong on the shipping so it's saying it'll cost me over £10 shipping for 2.7kg.

Mental

blackbrabus don't they have that stuff in the UK warehouse? I have bought items from there for my son when he visits his girlfriend and the shipping was always fast and super cheap.

Yeah Zee I recognize you. I am hoping it's good. I liked what I saw in the product video. I have a Kinetic that I haven't built yet. Might just sell it if this one turns out good.

Just watched a HK "Daily Video" saying they have spare parts in all warehouses! You should try the UK warehouse!? Good luck and post a video if you can!

So here is my box to build to crash.

well packaged and arrived with no damage

The only bit of work needed during the build really is cutting the decals to mount the stabs.....but dont get any of the off cut on your fingers....i'll never come off

nice amount of cooling on the motor

lots of room up front........but not used.

battery bay and receiver area looks well planned out

Orange R615 mounted in the fuz......you will need to use a Y lead for the Ailerons due to the servo cables being very short.

the 1000mah lipo fits of but for the CG to be correct without adding weight up front I used the Zippy compact 850mah 3s

all finished and ready for the maiden......I did have to adjust the surface horns to get them level.

and then the maiden

Hobbyking Wingnetic maiden,,,,,,,and crash (2 min 1 sec)

So that really didnt go well.

as I gave about 3/4 throttle the plane pulled out of my fingers and pivoted down from the finger grips into the deck.

new nose, spinner, props, motor mount needed......gutted.

Thanks so much for the pics and vid! I appreciate you sharing your "Fail" as it will definitely help me (and others) avoid the same mistake (seriously I would have likely done the same thing).

You are also to be commended on how well you handled the disappointment of a failed maiden! That's another thing I could learn from you!

I hope you repair your "Wingnetic" and have many successful flights with her!
