Scratch Built Cruise Ship

Jan is an RC boat enthusiast from Belgium. He scratch built this RC version of the Voyager of the Seas. It took him 5 years to create. It is over 2 meters long, runs on 2 electric 12 volt motors and has 2 car batteries for power.

RC boat / cruise ship voyager of the seas (1 min 37 sec)

The ship is very sensitive to wind due to it's size. It leans over in sharp turns. The designer was careful with the balance of the ship. Even in strong winds and at 100% throttle the ship will not tip over.

The hull is made from fiber glass and epoxy. The first part of the build was the electronics and controll system. It is primarily made from Nylon becasue it is water resistant and lightweight.

Not to be the bad guy here, but nylon? It sounds like some one had access to a 3D printer.

Ballast would be nice. Out at sea most of those port windows would be under or at the water edge.
