One of my motors started to go bad - it wouldn't fire up as quickly as the other and then would randomly stop working in flight. Now it has simply stopped working all together. Is this common?

WRT "Auto-levelling" I think it's just a change in the control algorithm used. It seems pretty universal opinion that the 9*9's don't have accelerometers.

My 929 certainly flies differently than an mQx of my KK2 tricopter. It needs continual "forward" stick to keep it tilted forward, whereas the other two keep rotating if you keep the stick displaced. I haven't re-built the tri yet so haven't had a chance to try the new KK2 auto-level to see how that compares. I will say that all three machines stay pretty level and stable in hands off hovering.

FWIW. Cheers,
Andrew

My experience is most mini quads feel like they might self level to some degree. You are never quite sure. There were plenty of debates about whether or not the MQx had accelerometers when it first came out. If you have accelerometers, you don't need to guess, you will know. They act much faster and in some cases are quite intrusive.

I don’t have mine yet but have been reading reading and reading these threads for last two week ends. Some have had wires break and plugs come looses, it sounds to me if it was cutting in and out and then stopped completely I would check the wire connections on that motor / leg.

Second step I would swap with one of the other legs to see if it was the board or just motor going bad.

I find the auto leveling of my 949 quite intrusive to real sport flying, but a benefit to night flying. I prefer my mqx as it maintains attitude but will level out slowly if not leaned way over, whereas the 949 will over correct in the opposite direction as soon as you release the stick. I guess I'm going to have to get a 929 and see. But now I want a 959 as well for the camera and radio that controls it.

Had my first FPV flight after the holidays today...

got up really high to check out the setting sunset view...

i wonder how high this was... any ideas?

then almost crashed diving and banking too quickly coming down...

saved it all via FPV.. promise no looking... (i did try looking up.. but couldnt see the quad and had to carry on via fpv)...

FPV height sight..what goes up must come down.. sometimes too quickly!! (2 min 0 sec)

@leadfeather
I like how you shaped it. Thanks for sharing. My youngest boy likes Spiderman. I may have to make one for him when I get a chance.

calculate height from video and a map and other data

@archilleselbow
to work your height out
find out how high the tall pines in the video are using sun angle shadow length and trigonometry or other data
locate some points visible on the ground on a map, the trees, a point directly below the bird and something that lines up with the top of the trees then work out the dimensions of the vertical right angled triangle with your bird at the top vertex using trig again

G'day Folks.
I have just flashed my new Turnigy 9x to ER9x, and bound it to my 929.
The 929 starts up with throttle at 100% (quite exciting - NOT!), and I am at a loss.
I tried throttle reverse, but that just generated an error message
Does anyone have a link to a setup guide, please?
TIA - Chris

Happened to me too
I'm using a 9x, not ER9x flashed
Try setting up again, when the screen asks THROTTLE REVERSE? press the EXIT button ! ( EXIT button = NO, MENU button = YES )
