Help!
Help me buy a new Trex setup

Don't worry, I'm not asking for cash...

I want a new Trex 450 SE V2 setup, I want something nice and stable that I can upgrade and expand as my skills progress. Obviously funds aren't unlimited but I want to do it right first time (e.g. 2.4 TX).

So what would you suggest I buy? I need the entire soup-to-nuts package, assume I have nothing (other than Phoenix, practising regularly on that!).

Thanks guys.

Opinions vary on servos, I like MKS P-03s, but you have to get the programmer as well.
Hyperion ESC and their T-Rex motor (opinions vary here too) or Align's 430XL
Hyperion 1800 packs
Hyperion EOS 5i charger and LBA-10 balancer

I would recommend HiTec HS-65MG for the cyclic servos the HS-65HB will work also but the MG's will not strip with each crash.
Like the previous post the 401 w/ the 9650 is the way to go for a gyro.
Just starting out the stock motor and ESC the come with the various T-Rex's are more than adequate.
Spektrum for sure on the radio, can't go wrong there.
There are many choices for a separate BEC, highly recommend using one. I have seen them from $20 to $35.
For batteries check out the DN power 2050's. Great price and work great, I have over 30 flights on the 4 that I have and have had no problems.

good luck

With limited funds (but wanting to stay within the done-right-the-first-time rule) here is what I would recommend (for beginner-sport flying):

Trex 450SA Combo ARF
Align Gyro (Or Futaba GY240 or GY401 if funds are available)
Thunder Power LiPo 3S Battery (2050 or above)
Spektrum DX-6 (use the included servos to save $$)
Battery charger of your choice (I went with the Triton Jr).

This would get you up and running. As you move along in skill you can upgrade the various components as needed.

My beginner Trex has high performance components in it although I doubt I come to the point where I see the performance difference, yet. Go figure!

I have flown a Trex configured as above and, as far as I am concerned as a beginner, it flew very well for learning. He also had extra funds for blades and such that somehow tend to break.
