??? And your point???
There was a time not too long ago one of the RnR principals experienced some serious health issues IIRC.This may have some bearing here.
Also...some 6 years prior to our friend KWM joining us here on the groups,RnR was credited for the airframe construction for the first unmanned (and smallest) aircraft to cross the Atlantic.
And before that (quite a bit before actually) the RnR slopers we're one of the fiercest slope racers on the California Slope Racing scene.
No doubt,if today, RnR we're still in the game, they're planes would be contesting for DS records along side Spencer & Manor.
So, there's that...

P.S. Whom are you hiding from JohnSmith/Ourplanes,whom has barely ever been involved in the groups & jump right into a juicy bit?
P.P.S. Not that I really want to know.Just Sayin.

RnR Products Unique UAV Airframe Technologies Produced Unmanned Airplane That Completes First Autonomous Flight Across the Atlantic.

MILPITAS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 25, 1998--Milpitas, Calif.-based RnR Products develops unique airframe technologies which assisted Insitu Group's and U of Washington in setting World Record.

Utilizing RnR's unique composite hollow core molded technologies, the Insitu Group, the University of Washington and three years of R&D effort culminated with the Aerosonde entry into the history books as the first unmanned aircraft as well as the smallest aircraft to cross the Atlantic.

The Aerosonde robotic aircraft airframe manufactured by RnR Products, a Small composite prototype company based in Milpitas, Ca. completed the first unmanned crossing of the Atlantic establishing World records for Autonomous flight over water.

The history-making Aerosonde, nicknamed "Laima," landed smoothly on a field in the Outer Hebrides, Scotland, after a 26 hour non-stop flight from Bell Island Newfoundland, Canada, on Friday, August 21, 1998. The aircraft airframe built by RnR Products, Milpitas, Ca. has a 9 ft wingspan, powered by a tiny 20 cc engine, autonomously guided itself across the 3200 km North Atlantic while using only 2 gallons of fuel.

The North Atlantic crossing mission was a joint venture of the Insitsu Group, Bingen, Wa. and the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics, University of Washington, Seattle, Wa. Partial sponsorship of the mission was provided by U.S. Office of Naval Research, The Boeing Co. and L-3 Communications, Conic Division.

"RnR's team, the airframe manufacturing company for the Aerosonde was very proud to be a member of Dr. Tad McGeer's Insitu Group," states Rich Spicer one of the founders of RnR Products.

"This transatlantic milestone, from Newfoundland-to-Scotland is the first of a new generation of low cost, mission specific, commercially available UAV's that are able to make long distance ocean crossings," states Rich Tiltman, founder.

As stated by the Insitsu group: The objective of the flight was very practical. The Aerosonde was able to demonstrate that low cost autonomous aircraft will be able to regularly cross vast oceans for use in such applications as economical wide-scale weather reconnaissance which could potentially improve forecasting worldwide.

RnR Products Inc. designs and manufactures composite aircraft for UAV, Aerospace and commercial uses with distribution worldwide.

** I don't know who JohnSmith is and Im not hiding from anybody. I have a job and made friends who flys these planes as a hobby.
So it might be fair to say that you have no experience or knowledge about the RC glider world.
Well it's a fantastic network of enthusiasts sharing knowledge, skills, innovation, adaptation,& methodologies with, I dare say, every discipline represented.Medical professionals, many many engineering disciplines, legal professionals, white collar, blue collar, laborers, industrial sector, education, research and even the cable guy,all come together and share their enthusiasm for RC gliders (planes & other vehicles too) on boards like this RCGroups.
Many of these enthusiasts developed into cottage industry producers that garnered a passion beyond simply "business"; for which we are grateful to be able to enhance our own pursuits with their products.

Im just wondering why people do business who's license is expired? What is wrong with letting people know these guys aren't a real business? What happened to doing business with people who is actually is a business? What do you do when when these people don't do the things you need them to do in the timely manner to test your planes and especially around competing time?
Given your own revelation perhaps you need to realize the "business" of RnR has prolly gone away leaving a fellow enthusiast to help someone in need.

Health issues or not, my point is that RNR products shouldn't be allowed to provide service or products if they are not a real business.
"Health" issues or not, that's very caring of you MrPlanes. You have truly demonstrated that you don't have any business being here

Im just letting other people know RNR product isn't a legitimate business and should be used with caution when you need service provided by them. Isn't illegal to do business in California without paying taxes?
And my point Mr.Ourplanes,is that it is quite likely this was not a "business" transaction in the traditional sense but a favor undertaken by a passionate RC enthusiast wanting to help out in whatever capacity possible.
And what is your interest in this?
You have been involved in this board for 3 or 4 posts and your an expert on what goes on ?
Waiting a year is indeed troublesome, have you ever placed an order for an Icon? How about a Raketenwurm (sp?)?

Your not even involved within the RC community and start talking trash about people & events you know nothing about (unless of course your just hiding behind a new screen name to troll).
And what "data" do you present from 'California Business Search'? It's gibberish.
And where do you get off accusing someone of not paying taxes? It is illegal in California to slander an individual btw.
What business do you operate?
AirBornOne over & out.

Regardless of anyone's motivation, I am glad for this info. I am shopping for a new TD sailplane and have visited the RnR webpage. They are now OFF my list.

Thanks
Ken
