HK Mig 3 ARF Balsa

Well somebody has to start this off.
HK posted this in their new section this morning.

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...alog/47587.jpg

Nice size at 1570mm w/s and looking good for Electric.

The price is unbelievable....
what is wrong with it ( the sceptic in me is whispering in my ear.)

Has anybody seen this model from the actual manufacturer... hope it is the first
in a series of this size.

Tony

But it's balsa.

At least the Russians are coming.

Now please make a more detailed foam one. And also an Il-2M3 sturmovik.

+1 for the IL2!
A long time favourite of mine.
Up to now, I still have to stick to PC fligtsims (IL2 and the soon to be released IL2 Battle of Stalingrad) to get me flying this beast.

These arent new , been out for many years as a nitro version. They updated them with battery hatches so you can fly them as electric

I really wished they'd resurrect the fiberglass fuse Mig-3 that they sold some years ago. It wasn't terribly scale but the nose was solid, the motor mounted on the back side of a light ply motor mount which let you get a really nice spinner/cowl mating job done, there wasn't an ugly seam where the plastic or thin fiberglass cowl screws onto the nose, it could carry a pretty good sized 4 or 5 s pack and it could be built to be quite quick in the air.

True, it had horrible flight characteristics. Head to youtube and watch a few videos - most end in tipstalls on approach for landing. If you pulled too much elevator in a turn the nose would swap directions with the tail... It was really a handful.

I have a whole hangar full of perfectly well behaved warbirds. I really miss the fiberglass Mig-3 precisely BECAUSE it was a handful

Nice size, but it looks real "model" like. I think FMS and Hangar 9 have spoiled me.

My friend has a few as electric but hes using 60 size motors with 5s and 3 bladed props and they fly great . They maybe not 100% scale but are great flying airplanes.

I thought that they had stated that it would be in all warehouses - but it seems to have gotten to the AU warehouse first (not a simultaneous release)?
