The french Bearcats look completely black. What about civilian colours?

mmmm, I like the civvy look. I just fancied something that I could spend some time painting on markings as well. Was looking at the us trainer scheme with the yellow wings, bright and still got markings. I just dont know if the bearcat was ever done like this. Cheers, Barry.

There was a neat-looking white/bronze scheme that I think was on Grumman's company Bearcat (could be wrong on that)... also the orange "Gulfhawk" scheme... also several Reno Racer schemes...

Real Spitfires are brown and green, Real Bearcats are dark blue. End of story.

If you are looking for something different the orange scheme used by the Gulf Hawk and the gold and white scheme used by the Rare Bear are probaby the two most widely known.

Neither of them are dark blue though..........................

No, No, cant paint dark blue, must keep dark blue from airbrush, its getting closer, oh no, phew, got the lid back on the blue just in time!! That was a close shave! Its just that one of my club members has a balsacraft bearcat and his is blue all over. I just found a pic of a hellcat that has a dark blue topside, then a medium blue, then a white underside. This I like. The rarebear scheme looks too "toylike" if you know what I mean. Its not fair!!! Barry.

You forgot Beetle Bomb, the most famous Navy Bearcat. It's yellow.

And Conquest I, Greenamyer's world piston record holder. It was white, then yellow.

The Thai AF was silver.

Well, the fuzz was given its first coat of.................dark blue last night! And it actually looks quite good! The wings are made from blue floormate foam and Ive just got to figure out how they should be painted now. Keep the bearcat pics coming guys, the final decision has yet to be made! Thanks, Barry.

Markings

Where on the wonderweb would I find markings that I can print out and stick onto my bearcat? I cant be bothered to paint em all freehand on this model as I want to get a start on something bigger and better and the wee cat has been on the building board for too long now. I just want to fly it! Barry.

Check DJ Aerotch, the Corsair markings may work, but you may need to resize them: http://www.djaerotech.com/dj_download/
Maybe something you like here too: http://www.warbirdkits.com/
