so there is no need for dedicated power source, just connect the receiver to the FC /all needed channels/ is that correct?

It has been over five weeks since release of the gps, so I don't think it's fair to say I'm looking for instant gratification.

I don't have any personal experience with an mk, so I can't comment on a comparison of an xa 650 to an mk, I'll leave that to those that do.

I am a fan of xAircraft. For the price, I think the x650 is a great quad.

Thanks,
Joe

Nice work Nick,
Do you have a picture of your X8 with the mkTR camera mount? Are you using XAircraft FC to do the stabalization.
Thanks,
Ken

I guess I've just learned a little more patience as I get older but the complaints have wore me down a bit.

What I would like to see is a little more innovation from the X650 & X450 owners. Lets see what we can build. So far I have a X8 and a hexa. I just got my new camera mount today (3 axis ) and will post pictures once it has been mounted. I also promise to post more pictures of my X8 as I am cleaning up the wiring and came up with a way of making it look more professional. One of the ideas behind the X450 was for the DIYers to build something. Lets see some more action. Camera mounts, what have you. Has anyone come up with a good camera mount for the GoPro on the X450? Lets see your drawings and ideas.

can't wait until the pictures come out. and see video from the camera itself.

Congratulations. That's great that you got it working, and working well. Camera weighs +/- 580g which is good.

Please show us your setup and what it looks like, motor mounts etc. I think I will order some X650 motors and a X650 Esc and go for the full X8 as my experiment with the X8 using X450 motors failed badly.

How is the handling? and any adjustments to the settings

Cheers
Rob

Hi Josh or anyone. Going back to my X8 using the X450 Esc and motors that I built. My one Esc burnt out and the one X450 motor continued running when landed.

I think the problem could be the signal cable extensions (linking the FC to the ESC) that I bought. If they were not connecting properly, could that cause a burnt ESC and also keep the one motor running?

Thanks for any input
Rob

Do you think I can use the standard motors, esc & props of a X450 if I want to build a Y6 with this frame : http://www.baseframes.de/Frame-Y600/1,000000137060,8,1 ?
Or should I look for another combinaison of motors/esc/props ?
