Thanks Paul,

I'll look to get one in hand soon and then evaluate.

It looks like there isn't much room in the pod for a normal size reciever that plugs in from the side. What's a good Spectrum type receiver that can be used on the Libelle that has the servos plug in from the end? What are most people using?

I used an AR6335

Works perfectly if your servos have those mini style connectors

But I did mount the RX on its edge up against the left side of the pod. I also had to cut out some of the foam at the bottom of the pod to make a little slot for it to sit in

Orange 4 channel with the cover taken off and then heat shrunk or the lemon 4 or 6 channel fit nicely too.

Thumbs-up on the Lemon 6 channel, my testing showed it better than Orange or Spektrum....perfect for small gliders and park fliers...small, light and inexpensive.

Lemon Receivers

Anyone have experience with Lemon Receivers? I got a couple of Lemon Rx DSM2 Compatible 6-Channel Receiver (Feather Light, End-Pin), 1 for my Libelle and 1 for an Alula I picked up, but neither seem to work. I try binding them to my Spektrum DX-8 and they don't seem to work. When I plug the battery in I get a solid red light instead of a blinking one. The only difference is after a few seconds it gets a little dimmer. And the servos don't work. However when it try it using a 4 channel Spektrum receiver, it binds and the servos work.

I would love to be able to use these because of the price but need to know, is there something I'm missing on these receivers?

Bellke,

You may have a bad one, but I seriously doubt both are bad. I've never had an issue with any of my DSM2 Lemon RXs binding to either of my DSM2 9303s. Sounds like it may be a DSMX issue, check your DX8 manual.

sometimes the bind is impossible until you physically separate the tx and rx by a fairly large distance (as in, metres !)

don't ask me why that is the case, but i had a similar issue with one (not all...) and distance made all the difference

I went flying the Libelle today for the first time of the year with four bran new HS 5035HD servos.

At the beginning of thr afternood the temperature was -8C with 5-15 km/h wind. I flew for about an hour.

My average launches are now 33 m with a few at 38 m. Lots of fun, but this height is pretty limitting. I've been able to catch a thermal twice but could only follow it for 5-6 turns until I've got too far downwind.
Most flights were 40 seconds, with a few exceptions around 60-65 seconds.

A fun afternoon, but still poor performances.

i am incredulous that you can get a libelle to 38m

38 feet would seem more like it from descriptions here... did you do any mods to make it more rigid ? what are you using to measure that height ?

i can only just hit 40m using a binary 900 with wind assist, so i really can't envisage a foamy getting he same loft; standard launches from me are generally 32- 35m

still, congratulations if that's what you can do
