I had to babysit my younger siblings this morning, and it was raining, so I decided to try and hover my MX2 in the living room/kitchen.

My hatcam was mounted at a bad angle, so the video isn't very good.
Fancy Foam Mini MX2-Living Room Hover! (1 min 35 sec)

I accidently hit the counter once.

I'm going to try my old beast motor. I haven't decided on servos, I might go for the more conventional servos out of my old eflite zero, rather than the linear micros from the beast. I hate those servos. I could ues one aileron servo then, like my larger flat foamies.

I think the MX2 will probably fly better with rotary servos. Is your Beast motor 2300kv or 2500kv? I run the 3000kv/Yak prop, which gives pretty good power. You will barely have enough power to hover with the 2500kv, and just a little bit more with the 2300kv, unless you run 3S.

It's the 2300kv motor. I thought there were people on this thread saying that they used the Beast motor and got good performance out of it.

Given the Beast equipment is what I have to start with, has anyone tried a different prop, other than the one that came with the beast?

I will be using the 2300KV Beast motor, and the Beast BL6400 brick. The linear servos on the brick will drive the rudder and elevator, I will be using a rotary servo from the Eflite Zero for the ailerons. I see some have used the Beast motor, and been satisfied, we'll see what happens.

You will have awesome power if you run the Yak prop/2300kv on 3S. Who has used the 2300kv or the 2500kv, and liked it?

I don't remember. I thought I saw it in this thead. At any rate, it is what I have. If I don't like, its an easy fix another time. I would consider 3S, but I dont know what the brick can handle.

Is your Beast brick AS3X? If it is, it can handle 3S.

Then it probably won't handle 3S.
